~ Growing Without Roots ~

My childhood was amazing and unique. In fact, it ruined my life in many ways. I remember when I was seven, listening to the radio in my parents' room in Australia, eyes closed, lying on the rug with my head on a pillow, the sound of the branches and leaves blowing in the wind outside. I often wonder, is this a dream and am I still in Australia? Will I wake up and be able to do it all differently? Or is this my life and my memories will always be an albatross around my neck?

1958 Monaco

From Monte Carlo back to Juan Les Pins

While we were in Juan Les Pins and after we had driven La Grande Corniche (see separate post), we made a side trip to Monte Carlo in Monaco.

My mother had always been a tremendous fan of Grace Kelly and I think deep down she thought maybe we would catch a glimpse of her.

We had lunch at the Castleroc, which at the time was the most famous restaurant in Monaco.

We looked out at the marina and the harbor and all the incredible yachts. There were a lot of yachts all over the French Riviera, but nothing like Monaco. It was spectacular!
